Course in Mixed-Effect Modelling for Forest Applications May 19-23, Ås Norway.
Course Description:
This 5-day course (May 19th-23rd, 2025) at NMBU, Ås, Norway, provides an introduction to mixed-effect modeling for analyzing grouped data common in forestry and environmental sciences.
Topics covered include:
- Working with categorical data
- Linear mixed-effect models
- Mixed or random effects: which to apply
- Non-linear mixed-effect models
- Generalized linear mixed-effect models
By the end of the course, participants will be able to perform regression analysis using various mixed-effect models. The course is suitable for PhD students and post-doctoral researchers. The language of instruction is English.
Prerequisites:
Basic knowledge of regression analysis and statistics (Master’s level). Completion of a pre-course exercise (distributed May 12th, due May 16th) is required.
